05 Feb Flexibility leads to happiness at work
A recent article in the Business Review Weekly (BRW) argues that changing demographics mean employers will need to be more flexible and understanding of employee needs.
Among other things, the combination of a severe job & skills shortage and the growing partcipation of women and older people in the workplace means demands for work life balance are increasing.
And without work life balance there’s little happiness at work – and without happiness at work there’s less productivity, lower energy levels and less effective team work.
Out workplace coaching interventions have shown that happines at work is definitely valued and more so, that it can be enhanced – if only the right sorts of things are advocated and encouraged.
