03 Jun Achieving happiness is not always fun!
I’ve just spent most of today, a Sunday when I could have been resting or relaxing or playing with my kids, completing a range of tasks that were somewhat overdue. Without boring you with too many details, I was behind in some organising and so set myself down to get things in place before they got even further out of control!
To be perfectly honest…it’s not been a fun or enjoyable day. There’s not been much happiness and on top of it all I now have a stiff neck!
But, I’m not writing here to whinge or complain or to bring you down…I’m here to say that despite struggling through an unpleasant task at this point in time, having completed the task, feel an incredible sense of relief and accomplishment and achievement; and although I’m not necessarily jumping for joy or laughing with glee I do think that what I’m experiencing is a form, a very important form of happiness.
So if you’re struggling to find happiness some days, face up to those mundane or unpleasant tasks you’ve been avoiding. You might not have a great deal of fun during the process but at the end…there will be a satisfying form of happiness waiting for you as your “prize”!
