Here at The Happiness Institute we’re devoted to spreading the principles of positive psychology to ensure as many people as possible are as happy as possible. With this in mind, we’re pleased to bring you a model that’s at the heart of most of our happiness coaching sessions and one you should be able to apply to any and all domains of your life.
- Begin by imgining that 2010 is going to be a fantastic year; one filled with health, happiness and success. Now paint a picture or write a description of what this would look like. Try to be as specific as possible.
- Now ask yourself what you already have in your life that will help you achieve your dreams. What strengths, resources, friends and other tools do you already possess upon which you can leverage to achieve success?
- Review your positive vision of the future, summarise your existing strengths, and start to draw up a detailed action plan…one that includes specific weekly and daily goals for you to work towards.
- And finally, get started! What do you need to do RIGHT NOW to begin your journey towards your life of happiness and wellbeing?
We don’t expect you to achieve all your goals today…but we certainly hope you’ll get started!
