The Happiness Diet _ã_ a positive psychology approach to weight management

Most diets and weight management programs suggest that you_ã_ll be happy when you_ã_ve lost weight, dropped a dress size or achieved what_ã_s usually a totally unrealistic goal! Most diets and weight management programs fail because they play into the _ã–tyranny or when…_㝠(the _ã–I_ã_ll be happy when…_㝠phenomenon). This approach is inherently negative and demoralising as it defers happiness in many cases, indefinitely. In contrast, Prof. Sharp_ã_s new and exciting approach, The Happiness Diet, builds on his _ã–Primacy of Positivity_㝠theory which in simple terms proffers that if you get happy first you_ã_ll then be more motivated and energised to do what you need to do to achieve your goals. This session is for those who want to lose weight but also, for anyone who wants to be happier with their body size and shape, change their diet or activity levels, and also for those who_ã_ve struggled to achieve their goals in the past. Sleep your way to the top _ã_ healthy living from a positive psychology perspective

It_ã_s hard to be happy if you_ã_re literally sick and tired all the time. The unfortunate reality is that many of us are sick and tired, much of the time. The average Australian get_ã_s an hour_ã_s less sleep a night than he/she needs and research suggests that lack of sleep impacts on cognitive functioning (e.g. memory, attention, decision making etc), mood, relationships and even eating and weight. The good news, however, is that healthy living is obviously possible and can be made much easier if one understands and applies the powerful principles of positive psychology to set a positive vision and direction, generate and maintain motivation and energy, leverage of strengths to make things happen and finally, to hold oneself accountable and reinforce positive progress.

The Great Comedy Debate – That Actions Speak Louder Than Words

John Thompson, Sandy McCutcheon, Fiona Scott-Norman, Christa Hughes, Joel Salom and The Birdmann use their various modes of communication to get their points across. If actions truly do speak louder than words, the re-action to this debate could be deafening. Professor Tim Sharp keeps the peace.

And if you do come along then I’m sure Prof. Sharp would love for you to come and say hello : )
