11 Oct Happiness is…practicing acts of kindness
Do good to others and you'll feel good yourself; because other people matter and happiness isn't just feeling good it's also doing good.
So we know from many, many research studies that being kind and caring and practicing altruism and generosity is the world's best win-win. The receiver enjoys the "gift" and the giver enjoys the giving. Happiness all around!
Which is why I was pretty excited when I discovered this website – The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation.
On the site they claim that…the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation is an internationally recognized non-profit organization founded upon the powerful belief in kindness and dedicated to providing resources and tools that encourage acts of kindness.
And as far as I can tell that claim is pretty well true : )
On the site are some wonderfully practical tools and suggestions, ideas and ways to spread kindness and, therefore, enjoy happiness.
So check out their free resources, stories and get involved in the "kindness community". I'm pretty sure that if you do you will also, then, enjoy a better and happier life yourself.
And then, what I'd love, is that you come back to The Happiness Institute's Facebook Page and share what you've done and how you felt about doing it. Because if we can all share our ideas around the practice of kindness then we'll also be sharing and spreading the happiness!
